A United States judge has granted the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) permission to interrogate Daniel Shin, co-founder of Terraform Labs, as part of an ongoing lawsuit. The SEC is seeking assistance from the South Korean government to interview Shin and gather evidence. The lawsuit, filed in February, accuses Terraform Labs and Shin of involvement in a multi-billion dollar crypto asset securities fraud. The SEC also intends to obtain evidence from Chai Corp., a payments company founded by Shin’s co-founder Do Kwon. The relationship between Chai and Terra has been a point of contention, with allegations of deceptive practices. In addition to the SEC lawsuit, Shin is facing criminal charges in both the US and South Korea.
