MicroStrategy, a US-based business software corporation, has purchased an additional 1,434 bitcoin (BTC), raising its total holdings to BTC 122,478 (USD 6 billion), according to the company’s CEO, Michael Saylor.
The new coins cost an average of USD 57,477 to purchase.
MicroStrategy’s average buying price for the most recent transaction is over 15% more than the current market price for bitcoin, indicating that the company purchased the coins in late November before values dropped below USD 50,000.
According to Saylor, the corporation has spent USD 3.66 billion on bitcoin, with an average price of USD 29,861 per coin.
BTC is trading at USD 49,165 at 13:27 UTC, down 0.6 percent in an hour and unchanged for the day. In a month, the price plummeted by 27%.
